Poems from the Edge

A friend of mine who has multiple disabilities wrote the following poems

Bleached

When the honeymoon is over no more blueberry pie,

Skinny dipping with yellow tinged sky.

Your touch once caressed my heart,

Now your words leave a mark that will forever

Bleach my psyche.

Sink

My heart sinks

Into Yours

Inhaling Your love

To starve my

Brokenness

Inhale

Inhaling mercies,

Glory glow flame.

To smother insanities,

Fingernails that have

Become embedded

Within my psyche.

Keeper of Tears

Caught an angel's tears,

Stuck them in my pocket.

She took the time to convey

Why they wanted me to savour

Each tear like it was a taste from the gods.

The angel whispered  tenderly.

I saw an old woman cry over a lifetime love lost,

She clutched a single white rose

As she murmured "goodbye!"

The angel said to me,

I leave you in charge

Of all the fallen tears I capture,

Because you can bring them hope.

Hold them eternally, destiny one.

Etched Within Their Wings

Angels whispering to me

Shattering the darkness that enslaves me in leg irons cold.

They enlarge my heart's capacity

To grasp hold of the river's love that continuously flows –

Like a gushing torrent from the throne of glory glow.

Angels waiting to bathe the tips of their wings

To protect the messages etched within so they can fly

And lace our dreams in destiny.

Just Because

Give us this day our  daily bread

So we can be reflectors

Of your glory love.

May angels sing

From your heart to mine.

Inscribe treasures

In the pockets of my heart.

Glory love,

Flow deep,

Endlessly.

So destiny

Sing long,

Your love songs just for me.

Delicate Visions

Golden feathers tenderly placed over my resting head

So I can capture visions of the glory realm

And imprint them delicately on the outside of my soul.
